Methodist West Houston Hospital
Construction is under way for this 192-bed hospital in the Katy area. The six-story facility will have 14 operating rooms, a Breast Center, an emergency department with the capacity to treat more than 30,000 patients a year, and centers for treatment of cancer, heart problems and orthopedics. Completion of this hospital is expected in 2010.

- Breast Center
Our comprehensive Breast Center provides our patients with education and examination, including regular mammograms and other imaging tests. We also offer a complete range of advanced detection and evaluation techniques, including minimally invasive biopsy of any suspect areas. In the event of a cancer diagnosis, The Center works with every patient to develop a customized plan of treatment. Depending upon the case, that treatment plan might include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or a combination, as well as access to post-surgical breast reconstruction. The Breast Center at Methodist West Houston Hospital is designed to provide an environment of comfort, support and compassionate care.
- Cancer Center
The Methodist Cancer Center at The Methodist West Houston Hospital will be opening in the fall of 2010. The center continues Methodist?s mission of leading cancer care, and embraces the technology breakthroughs pioneered at The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Methodist West Houston will offer access to sought-after surgical, medical and radiation treatments and procedures that were once only available in the Medical Center, bringing advanced care closer to residents that live or work in the area. Quality care and a personalized experience are the standards which we uphold and exceed for each of our patients. We understand that cancer affects every person differently, so we work towards curing the patient - not just the disease.
- Robotic Surgery
Methodist West Houston Hospital's Department of Surgery features the da Vinci® Surgical System, which puts a surgeon's hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform. It gives the surgeon a three-dimensional, 10 times magnified view of the operating field, offering an excellent view of delicate tissue and organs. The da Vinci System enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision. Methodist surgeons have used robots to treat heart disease, prostate cancer, uterine tumors and fibroids and other conditions.

Methodist West Houston Hospital offers a full spectrum of diagnostic and acute care for cardiac and vascular illness, including a cardiac catheterization lab. Our heart services - advanced testing, medical treatments, and a complete range of cardiac and vascular surgeries - extend The Methodist Hospital System's tradition of leading cardiac care to those who live and work in the West Houston area.
