Know your risk factors to help prevent dementia
Houston, TX - 10/15/2012 - Dr. Gustavo C. Roman, director of the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at the Methodist Neurological Institute in Houston, summed up decades of dementia-related research in a review paper in Alzheimer’s Disease and Associated Disorders. Roman said although more definitive research is needed, focusing on the following risk factors can go a long way to helping reduce the risk of vascular dementia and mixed dementia (the combination of vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease). By 2050, 11 to 16 million Americans will suffer some form of dementia.Read Entire News Article
Cognitive disorders expert joins Nantz National Alzheimer Center in Houston
Houston, TX - 5/9/2012 Bryan M. Spann, D.O., Ph.D., adds clinical leadership to Methodist’s Alzheimer’s program
Bryan M. Spann, D.O., Ph.D., a board-certified neurologist specializing in the clinical management of patients with cognitive disorders, has been named clinic director of the Methodist Neurological Institute’s Nantz National Alzheimer Center.
Spann most recently served as medical director of the Memory and Aging Center at the University of Southern California. As clinic director at Methodist, Spann joins a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Gustavo C. Roman, director of the Nantz National Alzheimer Center. The team’s focus covers the spectrum of cognitive disorders and dementias.Read Entire News Article
