Shared Governance
Nurses have an active role in decision making at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. The VOICE Model provides the shared governance structure for professional nursing practice which empowers clinical staff to collaborate and use evidence-based research in the decision making process enabling nursing to create positive changes and improve patient care at the bedside.
The patient care issues are identified at the unit level, they are addressed in a timely manner, and reasonable and realistic solutions are provided by the nurses at the bedside, all of which have the potential to promote improved patient outcomes and improved nursing satisfaction which in turn can positively affect patient satisfaction.
