Hospital Chapel
Upon entering the hospital atrium, the chapel is located immediately to your right. The chapel is always open for those who would like a quiet moment to pray or reflect.
How Chaplains Can Help
Chaplains are available to assist with:
- Uncomfortable feelings
- Anxiety and depression
- Grief and loss
- General spiritual support including sensitive use of religious texts and prayer
- Sacraments and religious rituals
- Family meetings
- Assistance with contacting community clergy
- Assistance with relating religious needs to the medical team
Lay Ministry
The Lay Ministry is a lay volunteer program at Methodist West Houston. Lay ministers are trained pastoral caregivers who work under the supervision of the chaplain to assist with the spiritual needs of patients and families at the hospital.
