Welcome from the Director |
|
Welcome to the first issue of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute’s (TMHRI) e-newsletter. Since the summer of 2004 when I became director, we have made tremendous progress toward our goal of moving to the first rank of hospital-based research institutes.
We have recruited many preeminent scientists from across the country. We have developed an infrastructure to support them in their research. We have remodeled existing space to provide modern, efficient laboratories and are building a new research building. We are initiating this newsletter to keep the Methodist community informed about our progress and to provide practical information for many of you who are involved in research. In each issue we will feature a major development or lab, two of our investigators, an administrative resource for investigators and news about our accomplishments, the construction progress, compliance and support for research.

Research Compliance Program Established
at TMHRI |
|
With creative professionals and the performance of cutting edge research we expect conflicts of interest to arise. Conflicts are not inherently wrong, but they must be managed to avoid bias or the appearance of bias. Our goal is to only have you on the front page of the paper for the right reasons!
