| Home > Willowbrook - Northwest Houston > For Patients > Patient Guide > Visitor Hours and Information |
Visitors are welcome during your hospital stay; however, our main concern is for patient welfare and a quick recovery. Too many visitors or excessively long visits may not be to your benefit. Please ask friends and relatives to observe our visiting rules.
Visiting hours are 24 hours a day. Front entrance doors are open 24 hours a day. Between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., visitors must check in with Security at the front desk, leave identification, and receive a visitor badge which must be worn at all times during after-hours visiting. Visiting hours for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are at the discretion of the nurse.
Visitors should ask the nurse's permission before bringing food to patients. Visitors should not visit if they have colds or any infectious disease. A "No Visitors" sign may be posted on your door upon request.
Because we recognize that the healing process involves much more than the physical components of an illness, every aspect of our hospital's design addresses the mental and spiritual aspects that promote healing. As you walk into our facility, you may notice that our facility does not look, feel or smell like the typical hospital. This is because we have specifically chosen colors to promote a soothing, calming response and have installed softer, gentler lighting. You may also notice the many rays of sunlight throughout the hospital. Most patient rooms boast the healing properties of natural light, either from the atrium area or the outside perimeter.
Our inpatient rooms are designed with your comfort and safety in mind. Our hospital features all private rooms, reclining sleep chairs and pull-out sofas for the comfort of family and friends. Light woods and colors are specially chosen to combine the natural light that is available in most rooms to promote a calming atmosphere based upon mind, body, and spirit healing. Our beds are state-of-the-art technology. Panels on your bed allow you to adjust your bed height, call the nurse, and operate lights and television. All of our beds come with a built-in scale and special mattress to protect your skin.
Security Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For an escort or ride to your car or for inquiries about lost and found items, call the operator at 281-477-1000.
For your spiritual needs, a chaplain is available to you 24 hours a day. We also have a beautiful chapel located on the first floor on the south side of the atrium that is open 24 hours a day. As an extra service, Holy Communion can be brought to your room upon request.
We realize that you are not necessarily hungry at typical hospital meal times. For this reason, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital offers a unique food service we call "At Your Request" room service, which is available between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 7 days a week. This service allows you to order breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime you are hungry. Food arrival is approximately 45 minutes. Please dial Ext. 72665 for this service.
Guest Trays are also available for your visitors. In order to receive a tray in the patient room, your guest must first pay the cashier in the Food Court immediately before ordering.
A full-time dietician is on staff to ensure that any special nutritional needs are met.
For your convenience, an ATM is available next to the Emergency Department waiting area and in the Food Court by the vending machines. The Food Court is located on the north side of the atrium and is open Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The gift shop, Gifts from the Heart, is located on the first floor by the front entrance, South corner. The gift shop carries a full selection of gifts, home décor, greeting cards, books, newspapers, personal grooming products and much more. The gift shop is open at the following times:
