Your Executive Team
Cathy Easter, MS, President and CEO
Throughout Cathy's 18 years with Methodist, she has been responsible for numerous operational areas, strategic development, business plan development and organizational redesign. She has key responsibilities of establishing short and long term global strategies for the corporation, and leading international consulting and management projects. In addition, she provides oversight of international patient services, and works to expand the Methodist brand by providing high quality patient services in targeted international markets such as Latin America and the Middle East, through global development and consulting services. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President of Operations for Methodist International and Vice President of Community Development for The Methodist Hospital System. She was instrumental in expanding the consulting services and establishing an office in Dubai, UAE. Prior to May 2007, Cathy served as Vice President of Operations & Business Development for The Methodist Hospital. Her recent leadership experience includes the development of the Methodist Outpatient Center and the “Methodist Experience,” a completely patient-centered environment. Cathy joined The Methodist Hospital in 1991 after completing a fellowship in health care administration, and throughout her tenure, has had responsibility for various hospital operations and corporate functions. Cathy played a fundamental role in establishing the Community Benefits Program and continues to coordinate Methodist’s charity care and community benefits programs today. In 2004, she was named an “Up and Comer” by Modern Healthcare Magazine.
Marcie Guzman, MBA, CFO and Vice President, Global Business Development, The Americas
Marcie leverages financial and technology expertise to deliver profit, performance and revenue enhancements. She is a high performance leader who leads by example, and energizes the organization to achieve corporate goals. Her expertise spans operational process reengineering, business/strategic planning, team leadership and cost control and containment. In additional to a financial background, Marcie also possesses clinical experience. She was originally trained as a Medical Laboratory Technician at the Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, Texas, and served in the Armed Forces overseas where she was in charge of Laboratory Services at a 200-bed military hospital. Marcie is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. Ms. Guzman was part of the leadership team that launched and operated the largest outpatient center in the Middle East (The Dubai Mall Medical Centre - TDMMC) and its two satellite clinics. Ms. Guzman directed the development and implementation of financial systems at the TDMMC and introduced a transparent fiscal management program. In addition, she was instrumental in completing several market studies, strategic plans, business plans and feasibility studies for hospitals in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Sarper Tanli, MD, PhD, MHA, Vice President, Global Business Development, Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA)
Sarper has extensive experience in healthcare planning, development, operations and informatics on an international scale. After completing medical and business schools, he started his healthcare management career at The Methodist Hospital. Sarper worked on various startup projects including hospitals, outpatient center and the home healthcare. He has worked for Harvard Medical International (HMI) and played a leading role in the planning and development of Dubai Healthcare City and its components. Upon joining Methodist International in Dubai, he led the establishment and operations of high caliber outpatient centers in Dubai and various consulting projects. Sarper's accomplishments are complemented by his numerous presentations, publications and teaching appointments. He was initially trained as a physician and practiced emergency medicine for a short period of time. He continued his education with master's degree in health care and doctor of philosophy in health care management.
