Private Labor & Delivery Rooms
Methodist offers a unique environment in which you will experience labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum in the same private room. The LDRP environment lessens anxieties to the mother and family by eliminating the need to move from room to room, and it also encourages mother-baby bonding from the first breath. We welcome family participation and support during your stay.
Methodist caters to the comfort of you and your family. We encourage and support an environment of early family bonding and focus on patient-centered care and comfort.

Breast Feeding Support
Breast feeding is a special time between mother and baby, but it can take time for you to establish. The Methodist Hospital is designated as a Texas Ten Step Hospital by the Texas Department of State Health Services which means that Methodist encourages breast feeding as the preferred method of feeding newborns and infants. Methodist is also a Mother-Friendly Worksite by the Texas Department of State Health Services and promotes breast feeding in our workplace and in our community.
Certified lactation consultants and breast feeding educators are available to support breast feeding mothers. The nursing staff is also very well trained to assist mothers with breast feeding.
Breast Feeding at Home
We encourage breast feeding in the home and when you return to work. Our lactation consultants are available to answer your questions and ease concerns after you leave the hospital. Call us at 713-441-1683 for support, answers to your questions and additional resources on breast feeding equipment and accessories.
Baby’s First Photo and Online Nursery
Methodist offers you the opportunity to capture your baby’s first photo to share it with family and friends. For security reasons, the Web Nursery is restricted to authorized individuals and is accessible only by password.
