Two political icons who are widely recognized to have played a leading role in the fall of communism discussed their battles against the Soviet Union and heart disease. Former President of Poland and Nobel Laureate Lech Walesa and former U.S. Congressman Charlie Wilson were interviewed by Larry King at the Leading Hearts gala. Former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush served as honorary chairs. The gala benefited the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center in Houston, where both men were treated for heart disease.
