Nurse Practitioner Program

At The Methodist Hospital, Leading Medicine is not just a tagline. It is reality.

Nurse Practitioners at The Methodist Hospital (TMH) are truly leading medicine and nursing. Assigned to units rather than individual physicians, Nurse Practitioners at TMH have the opportunity to impact the care of all of our patients. In addition to clinical care, Methodist Nurse Practitioners (NPs) serve as leaders and mentors to bedside nurses and partner with physicians to ensure the best patient outcomes.

At TMH, NPs lead the life-saving Clinical Emergency Response Team (CERT). This team has worked to decrease the number of cardiac arrests outside of an ICU. Methodist NPs also work toward decreasing length of stay, lowering complication rates, and providing additional coverage for physicians, especially during the late night and weekend hours.
