Welcome to The Methodist Hospital Department of Nursing! As a Magnet® designated institution and one of America’s leading health care facilities, we are committed to achieving national prominence in clinical practice, education and research by advancing the art and science of nursing worldwide.
From new graduates participating in our nationally accredited Nurse Residency Program to our experienced and advanced practice nurses, we are committed to the development of our clinicians who serve as integral members of our health care team and, most importantly, serve as leaders at the bedside.
Each Methodist nurse crafts their own individual Clinical Career Path— this path clearly defines the credentials, competencies and contributions required to successful navigate each of the four differentiated levels. Our staff also takes pride in establishing lasting relationships with patients and their families as they provide individualized care across the continuum of their hospital and post acute care experience.
Although we practice in a 21st century nursing environment with cutting-edge technology and innovative ideas, we at Methodist firmly believe that a nurse’s original calling is to be a healer. As I walk the halls of our hospital, I witness — time and time again — our nurses creating healing spaces where patients can tell their stories. I watch as they listen attentively, and I see the compassion and caring spirit that supports our patients and their families as they manage their illnesses.
I am proud of our unique story and the strong legacy of Methodist Nursing. As a nursing leader, each and every day, I find myself honored to be a part of the dynamic nursing community we have created at The Methodist Hospital — where the best nurses in the world are leading and revolutionizing health care!
