The Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Center for Bioinformatics Research and Imaging for Neurosciences (BRAIN) at The Methodist Hospital Research Institute was made possible by a generous gift from the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Foundation. This gift will initiate and support the study of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The goal is to translate research findings into clinical therapies quickly and effectively using a variety of approaches including computational analysis, biomedical imaging, molecular modeling, genetic analysis, pre-clinical models, and clinical studies. These approaches will help us discover new drugs, reposition known drugs, work out biological mechanisms, identify diagnostic markers, and further refine therapies. Stephen Wong, Ph.D., P.E., Director of the Ting Tsing & Wei Fong Chao Center partners closely with the Alzheimer and Dementia Center and The Methodist Neurological Institute at The Methodist Hospital in leading this effort of translational research from bench to bedside and back.
