With a multidisciplinary team of internationally recognized leaders, and a unique training program for advanced treatment options, The Methodist Dermatology Center provides comprehensive dermatologic care.
Each Methodist Dermatology Services physician is a board-certified dermatologist, who has completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, a unique tissue-sparing, time-saving and cost-efficient outpatient procedure for skin cancer.
Methodist Dermatology Services is a state-of-the-art facility offering each patient a comprehensive, individualized skin care plan including a full range of therapeutic options for conditions ranging from chronic skin conditions to skin cancer removal.
Prevention
Realizing that skin health may be intimately related to behavioral and emotional factors, specialists at Methodist Dermatology Services provide education on the importance of stress management, environmental exposure and proper nutrition.
Screening
Specialists from the Center are available for skin cancer screening throughout the year.
Diagnosis
Screening and diagnostic procedures include skin examinations and minimally invasive biopsies; the results of which are evaluated by board-certified pathologists specializing in dermatologic care.
Outpatient Therapy
Methodist Dermatology Services offers a variety of treatment options that are tailored to each individual’s skin care needs.
- UV phototherapy
- Therapeutic baths and wet dressings
- Scalp treatments
- Biopsies and other minor procedures
- Skin cancer removal (Mohs treatment)
Methodist Dermatology Services is distinguished as one of the few facilities in Houston offering Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly effective, specialized treatment option for skin cancer. The Methodist Hospital is a premier training facility for fellows in this specialized field, with accreditation by the American College of Mohs Surgeons.
Methodist's Dermatology Therapeutics Service is an outpatient unit that specializes in the treatment of psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), pityriasis rubra polaris and skin cancer.
