Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Earns Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers
Recognized for Best Practices and Outcomes, the Certification Underscores Methodist Willowbrook´s Commitment to the Community
HOUSTON - In an ongoing effort to bring superior healthcare to the northwest Houston community, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital obtains certification for its leading Stroke Center. Achieving a perfect score, the hospital is now a Level II Stroke Center with a Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers.
Together with the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association, The Joint Commission assesses quality of care and patient outcomes according to strict guidelines for stroke care.
 The Stroke Center Certification is achieved when a center exhibits exemplary best practices.

Stroke is a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States. The physicians and support staff at Methodist Willowbrook regularly host health seminars to educate the community on identifying early warning signs, as well as ways to stay healthy.
The Stroke Center Certification comes on the heels of the hospital´s recognized accredited chest pain services – part of the tertiary care encompassing specialized services including open heart procedures and neurosurgery. A critical care team is onsite 24/7.
