Welcome to The Methodist Hospital House Staff Council website! As a resident of The Methodist Hospital your contribution to improving current and future medical training is paramount and participation in the open dialogue of the ongoing growth of your programs is beneficial to their resounding success. This site has been developed to serve you as a means of communication among residents in all programs, the GME Office, and the organization for which you play an integral role. We encourage your feedback and anticipate that you will visit this site often to view important issues that impact the professional and clinical training opportunities that you are a part of at The Methodist Hospital.

Mission Statement

To provide a resource for the residents and fellows of The Methodist Hospital by developing a virtual house staff council site that encourages open dialogue, exchanges of ideas and suggestions to make the training program experience the most beneficial it can be, and to offer a portal for important information to be accessed efficiently and timely.

Important Announcements

  • STAT In-service: Revised Informed Consent forms will soon be circulating at The Methodist Hospital. Please review the attached STAT in-service to revisit your responsibility as it relates to Informed Consent. [STAT INSERVICE DOCUMENT].
  • Duty Hours Policy: Please remember if you are on a rotation at The Methodist Hospital it is mandatory that you swipe in and out using the time machines located throughout the hospital. If your rotation occurs at a location away from the hospital buildings you should log your duty hours into New Innovations. For additional information, please contact Dottie or Trevor in the GME Office.
  • Feedback: To better serve you and to encourage open communication, several feedback forms relating to resident life issues have been created and are available for use. Click on the "Feedback" on the left navigation bar for additional information. The forms have been developed to be anonymous however, if you would like a direct response, you are free to include your contact information and a response will be sent to you in a timely manner.
