The Methodist Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation

The Methodist Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation brings together highly trained and experienced physicians, state-of-the-art technology, and a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of liver diseases. The Center is one of only three adult liver transplant programs in the Houston area.

Based at The Methodist Hospital, the liver transplant program is a UNOS-approved program which has been extremely successful since its inception in July of 1998. The size of the program has increased steadily, and in the year 2000 is currently performing the most number of liver transplants in Houston. In addition, Methodist surgeons are among the few teams in Houston utilizing innovative techniques such as split-liver transplantation.

The Liver Center expands the services currently offered by the Methodist Transplant Center to include the entire spectrum of medical and surgical treatments for liver and biliary tract disease, including education and screening.
