Trans Thoracic Echocardiogram

Trans Thoracic Echocardiogram

This is the standard, most commonly used method of echocardiogram. Views of the heart are obtained by moving a transducer to different locations on the chest or abdominal wall. This test is usually done in a special laboratory in a hospital or clinic. A trans thoracic echocardiogram is performed by a specially trained ultrasound technician.

You do not need any special preparation for this test.
