Biography

Dr. George Schroth is an interventional cardiologist at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center at The Methodist Hospital. Dr Schroth has extensive experience in clinical practice and patient care. He was co-director of both the echocardiography and cardiac catherization laboratory at the University of Texas School in Houston, Texas.

While his primary focus has been patient care, he was involved in research and clinical programs that helped develop the modern interventional treatment of myocardial infarction as well as septal ablation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Dr. Schroth has been an associate professor of medicine for cardiology, at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas for 15 years. He was involved in medical education serving as the co-director of the cardiology fellowship program and helped develop a program format for the interventional cardiology program.
