Biography
Dr. Sanjay Kunapuli’s research interests are in the medical and minimally invasive management of peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and coronary artery disease. He specializes in interventional cardiology with a focus on endovascular treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease & critical limb ischemia. He performs endovascular maintenance of hemodialysis access and treats structural heart disease including atrial septal defects (ASD), patent foramen ovale (PFO) and valvuloplasty.
Dr. Kunapuli received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from The University of Oklahoma. He received his M.D. from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch. He did an interventional fellowship and cardiology fellowship at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center and The University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals, where he became the chief fellow in interventional cardiology.
Dr. Kunapuli is an affiliate of the American College of Cardiology and an associate member of the Society of Vascular Medicine. He speaks English, Hindi and Spanish.
