Dr. Andrew Lee
Dr. David Brown
Lee, a leading expert in neuro-ophthalmology, has received countless awards and honors during his career, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Achievement Award. Lee’s clinical and research interests include optic nerve disorders, such as optic nerve tumors; optic nerve inflammation (optic neuritis); and swelling of the optic nerve (papilledema), particularly related to the “false brain tumor” syndrome (pseudotumor cerebri). Brown’s clinical and research interests involve diseases of the macula, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, and the surgical management of macular holes and epiretinal membranes. Brown helped design and was principal investigator on multiple FDA-regulated clinical trials leading to the development of the current standard of care treatments for wet age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic macular edema. The Methodist Hospital ranked among the country’s top hospitals in 11 specialties in U.S. News & World Report’s 2011 “Best Hospitals” issue, ranking in more specialties than any other hospital in Texas. Methodist is ranked 14th in ophthalmology. For more information on The Methodist Hospital, call 713-790-3333 or visit The Methodist Hospital System website. |
