Mission Statement

To provide high quality, cost effective, innovative pharmaceutical care to the people we serve in a spiritual and safe environment of caring, compassion, teamwork and personal commitment.

The Methodist Sugar Land Hospital Pharmacy Services goal in providing world-class pharmaceutical care stems from three strategic drivers:

  • Clinical Scope
  • Operational Excellence
  • Absolute Commitment to Quality and Safety

Clinical Scope

Our ability to have a positive impact on patient outcomes and economic resources will be largely determined by our ability to provide a wide range of innovative clinical practices and educational programs. Clinical studies continue to demonstrate improvements in patient outcomes and cost reduction as a result of expanding clinical pharmacy services.

Operational Excellence

Ensuring that the right medication is delivered to the right patient at the right time is a critical core competency of pharmacy services. Continuously improving distribution processes to provide efficient medication delivery will be a major focus for achieving operational excellence. A competent, well trained and satisfied staff will ensure that these processes are successful, and feedback from those we serve will help to ensure that we remain focused on our goals.

Absolute Commitment to Quality and Safety

Over the past few years, medication safety has become a major issue for healthcare institutions and patients. It is our duty to ensure the safety of Methodist Sugar Land patients with regard to medication use. A comprehensive medication safety plan, including patient education and quality measures, will lead us to this goal.

Patient Education

A major part of effective pharmaceutical care is not only the delivery of the right medications to our patients, but also providing them with information about those medications. Our experienced and caring staff is ready to answer any questions patients may have about their medications. We offer the additional service of a Drug Information Center, and our online Drug Library contains a wealth of knowledge available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
