Understanding that cancer care extends beyond patients’ physical needs, we offer a number of programs designed to support cancer patients, families and caregivers.
Our Breast Cancer and Grief Support Groups and Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes provide information, services and support for patients, family members, caregivers and also for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Facilitated by the Department of Spiritual Care, these groups are open to individuals of all faiths and beliefs, and offer patients, family members and friends the opportunity to meet others, find support and share experiences. For more information, please contact the Department of Spiritual Care at 281-274-7164.
Methodist Sugar Land Hospital serves as an American Cancer Society Resource Center to facilitate dynamic education and support programs. Patients have access to the latest information about cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Patients also can access an array of support services offered by the American Cancer Society, such as transportation to their treatments. For more information, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
We are a proud host of “Look Good … Feel Better,” a free program offered in partnership with the American Cancer Society that teaches beauty techniques to women actively undergoing cancer treatment. This program aims to help these patients combat the appearance-related side effects of radiation, chemotherapy and surgery, and begin to recover both physically and emotionally. For more information, please call 281–242–CURE (2873) or the American Cancer Society at 1–800–227–2345.
Reach to Recovery is an American Cancer Society program in which breast cancer survivor volunteers provide emotional support and information to assist with informed decision making for breast cancer patients as well as the patient's family members. For more information, call strong>1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
Methodist Sugar Land Cancer Center is affiliated with CanCare, a volunteer outreach program. CanCare volunteers are cancer survivors who devote their time to offering cancer patients emotional support, understanding and insight.

Every June, Methodist Sugar Land Hospital celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day®, which is an annual, worldwide Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada and other participating countries. Participants unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.
