National Cancer Survivor’s Day Celebration
Where survivors gather, hope soars! Please join the Methodist Cancer Center at West Houston to celebrate life and honor survivors of cancer. All cancer survivors, caregivers, providers and members of our community passionate about the cause are welcome.

Free Screening and Stroke Seminar
80 percent of strokes are preventable. While you can’t control all the factors that lead to a stroke, we want you to know more about the ones you can control. Join Dr. Mohammad Al Baeer, neurologist, as he discusses the risk factors, warning signs and lifesaving care available for stroke at Methodist West Houston Hospital.
The free stroke screening and seminar will be held on Tuesday, May 23 with the screenings from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Lobby Atrium and the seminar from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Mesquite Conference Room

Bereavement Support Group
Grief is a natural part of healing after the loss of a loved one. We invite you to come share, listen and be with others who understand. In partnership with Houston Hospice, Methodist West Houston Hospital offers a six-week support group for those who have recently lost a loved one. Open to anyone in our community, these groups are open format and provide support during the grieving process. The group meets each Friday morning in the hospital’s chapel and is facilitated by Houston Hospice staff. This group does require registration and we ask that you commit to all six group sessions when registering.

Breast Cancer Support Group
The Breast Cancer Support Group offers encouragement and education to breast cancer patients and survivors. Family, friends and caregivers are welcome. The support group meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Mesquite Conference Room from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Dinner is served.

Mended Hearts Support Group
Methodist West Houston offers heart patients and their families hope, support and encouragement in collaboration with Mended Hearts, a patient-support organization. The support group meets the third Thursday of each month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., in Mesquite Conference Room A.
