The best and brightest future neurologists and neurosurgeons receive exceptional training and preparation at the Neurological Institute.
As a designated Center of Excellence within The Methodist Hospital System, many of the Institute’s physicians serve as faculty members of Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in providing fully accredited neurology and neurosurgery residency programs. Physicians-in-training from across the country and world participate in both programs.
The Adult Neurology Residency Training Program of the Methodist Neurological Institute is founded upon excellence in trainig, education and pioneer advances in science and medicine. The four year program, beginning in the PGY1 year, provides comprehensive training in clinical neurology and mentored training in the clinical and basic sciences as a foundation for the practicing neurologist and physician-scientist. The neurosurgery residency is a seven-year program with extensive exposure to surgical techniques, neurology, neuropathology and neuroradiology. It prepares residents for clinical practice and academic careers. Learn more
A clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship program encompasses all aspects of clinical neurophysiology, including electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), nerve conduction, sleep, evoked potentials, intra-operative monitoring and other clinical testing. Learn more
A Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship provides clinical training with specialization in clinical neuromuscular medicine, including electro-diagnostic medicine, neuro-pathology, clinical and translational experience and rehabilitation. Each of the fellowships is one year long. Learn more
