Welcome! The Methodist Hospital Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Program is a multi-disciplinary program comprised of physicians from various specialties at The Methodist Hospital and the Sleep Disorders Center. Our physician specialties include Neurology, Otolaryngology, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Psychiatry and Pulmonary Medicine. The program serves as a single point of entry for patients with sleep disorders referred to The Methodist Hospital.  Physicians who are part of the center have subspecialty expertise in the management of patients with sleep disorders. Patients who are referred to the program for management can be seen by all physicians that are required to comprehensively address the patient’s clinical problem. The program also serves as the focal point of educational efforts and research protocols in Sleep medicine.

A key component of the Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Program is the Sleep Disorders Center . The Methodist Hospital Sleep Disorders Center is a state-of-the-art Sleep Center Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We provide technical excellence in polysomnography, medical expertise in the interpretation of sleep studies and outstanding clinical care for those with sleep disorders in our Sleep Disorders Center and Sleep Clinics

The Center offers a wide spectrum of services for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders:&

  • Diagnostic PSG
  • Positive Airway Pressure
    (Continuous and Bi-level) titrations
  • Split-night studies
  • Assessment of daytime sleepiness
    (Multiple Sleep Latency test and Maintenance of Wakefulness test)
  • Consultations with Sleep Medicine Specialists
  • Average volume assisted pressure unit or device

Patients with sleep disorders are evaluated with state-of-the-art equipment in private hospital rooms.  Several of the hospital rooms are equipped with special lifts for patients with impaired mobility. 

What makes The Methodist Hospital Sleep Center different?

Did you know there are over 90 sleep centers located in Houston? Of those, we are one of only 9 centers accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Our physicians are board certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Our Sleep Technicians are either Registry Eligible or already Registered by the Board of Polysomnographic Technicians (BRPT). Our studies are interpreted by board certified physicians. We have a quick turn around for reports.

Our service doesn’t end with your sleep study! We assist our patients in their DME follow-up. We also offer you a Registered Sleep Technician to help resolve possible Durable Medical Equipment Issues you may encounter such as poor mask fit, compliance problems or other issues.
