The proteomics core provides skilled personnel and instrumentation for mass spectrometry, protein and peptide level separation of complex tissue samples, and qualitative and quantitative analysis at the proteome-wide level. In-depth analytical protein identification and characterization is also facilitated within the core. The core helps researchers characterize changes in protein isoforms structure or expression levels in different tissues, correlations with patient phenotype, and alterations in molecular pathways associated with disease state or therapeutic treatment. The core can also facilitate the identification of the underlying post-translational protein modifications responsible for protein isoform alterations.
The core is located in the Research Institute building and is directed by David A. Engler, Ph.D.
