Biography

Dr. Leja received several honors and awards during her formal education and training, including a Summer Research Grant from Loyola University, and a Clinical Research Elective from the Baylor College of Medicine. While at the University of Michigan, she received the William J. Branstrom Prize for Outstanding Achievement and the prestigious Alumni Scholarship Award.

After completing her postdoctoral training, Dr. Leja joined The Methodist Hospital as an Attending Physician in Cardiology in 2008.

Description of Research

Dr. Leja´s research centers on the development and testing of novel cardiovascular imaging techniques. Recent studies have employed negatively charged liposomal-Technetium and SPECT-CT.
