Dr. Teeter received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Science (Dissertation area: molecular biology) from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1987. He then became a project investigator in the Department of Molecular Pathology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where he studied the molecular genetic basis of multidrug-resistant cell phenotypes in preclinical models of cancer. Dr. Teeter was promoted to research associate there after just three years. He moved to the Baylor College of Medicine as a research associate in the Department of Pathology in 1998 and joined Dr. Graviss’ Molecular Tuberculosis Laboratory soon after. Dr. Teeter came to Methodist in 2008.

Description of Research

Dr. Teeter conducts epidemiological and population-based surveillance studies of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
