Biography

Ms. McShane directs the collection, data capture and archive of human blood and solid tissue specimens for current and future research. She is responsible for ensuring that all tissue banking activities are performed in observance of HIPAA and FDA guidelines for informed patient consent and protection of private health information. All tissue use is administered under IRB approved protocols. Under her direction, the biorepository personnel collected and stored thousands of specimens for scientific study.

Pam received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University, Northridge in 1981. She managed industrial and commercial laboratories for over twenty years before joining Baylor College of Medicine in 2002 to create a biorepository to support research. She was one of the first scientists to join The Methodist Hospital Research Institute when it was created in 2004. In 2008, Pam was invited to join the TMHRI IRB#2
