Research Interests: Systems modeling of cancer cells (especially cancer stem cells), application of Markov Chain in genetic regulatory networks, drug repositioning and drug combination.
Dr. Cong serves as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Systems Medicine and Bioengineering, The Methodist Hospital Research Institute. In 2007, Dr. Cong received her B.S. degree in Computation Mathematics from Dalian University of Technology, China. In 2012, she received her Ph.D. in Mathematical and Computational Biology at The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong China. During her Ph.D. studies, Dr. Cong was an exchange student in the Bioinformatics Center, Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University, Japan in early 2009. Also, she was trained as a Research Fellow in the Department of Systems Medicine and Bioengineering, The Methodist Hospital Research Institute between late 2009 and early 2011. Dr. Cong’s research aim is cancer modeling and drug repositioning and combination by systems biology approaches.
