Biography

The Office of Grants and Contracts is responsible for all aspects of research finance at TMHRI. They manage both extramural funding (from federal and non-federal sponsors of research), internal funding provided through TMHRI-sponsored grants, and oversee departmental budgets. They assist investigators in the preparation and submission of applications for external grants, and review and negotiate contracts with industry sponsors for basic and clinical research.

Gary Lingle has worked in research administration for 25 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University and a valid CPA license from the State of Texas. He worked in the central grants office on both post- and pre-award administration at Baylor College of Medicine for 19 years. He was manager of the grants office at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and was recruited to Methodist in late 2004 to head the TMHRI Office of Grants and Contracts.
