Biography
Mariana Pope is the Director of the Office of Governance and Faculty Affairs. Ms. Pope's primary responsibility involves the oversight and strategic development and implementation of the Faculty Affairs processes, including : Recruitment and hiring; Faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure; and Researcher credentialing. Her office also serves as the central coordinating body for The Methodist Academy, a scholarly partnership between TMHRI and participating institutions in which students and postdoctoral researchers receive training at TMHRI. In addition to coordinating these efforts, Ms. Pope oversees the TMHRI Board of Directors and its' associated committees. This includes providing administrative oversight, drafting board resolutions, and assuring compliance with the Board bylaws.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Houston, Ms. Pope received her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Houston and her M.P.H. from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center.
