The Process

The first step is to contact the Methodist Weight Management Center by registering for our free weight loss surgery orientation. The Weight Management Center has a comprehensive program designed to help those battling with their weight choose the best medical route to lose weight and begin leading healthier lives. For some, surgery is an option.

The steps leading to weight loss surgery are:

  1. Free orientation
  2. Insurance verification
  3. Pre-surgery process review
  4. Clinic evaluation
  5. Initiate 3 or 6 month diet when necessary
  6. Surgeon consultation
  7. Final approval per surgeon
  8. Schedule surgery
Note: Support groups are offered to all patients in all phases of weight loss.
