About Us

The Methodist Hospital Department of Spiritual Care and Education is committed to inclusive spiritual care for patients, families, and staff delivered with compassion and respect for human dignity. Consistent with this commitment, Methodist Hospital staff chaplains are Board Certified.

The Department of Spiritual Care and Education offers Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) residencies, extended programs and supervisory CPE, all accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. Spiritual Care and Education is located in Dunn Tower, Suite 102.

When to Contact a Chaplain

Chaplains provide spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff. Our chaplains are clinically trained to provide ecumenical and interfaith support to all persons.

Chaplains are available to assist with:

  • Uncomfortable feelings
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Grief and loss
  • General spiritual support including sensitive use of religious texts and prayer
  • Sacraments and religious rituals
  • Family meetings
  • Community clergy contacts
  • Patient Spiritual care needs dialogue with the medical team

  • Days: Monday – Friday
  • Times: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
