Urodynamics

Urodynamics is the term used to describe a series of diagnostic tests used to evaluate the function and dysfunction of the urinary tract. These tests provide answers to clinical questions about a patient's bladder and outlet function, after they have visited a physician with specific complaints.

The Methodist Hospital's Urodynamics Laboratory provides patients with complete state-of-the-art testing for incontinence as well as other comprehensive urological diagnostic exams and procedures.

Doctors and medical professionals at the Urodynamics Lab have access to a number of high-tech urological tests that can identify the exact cause of bladder control problems and help doctors determine the best course of treatment. Performed in a private, secure setting, these state-of-the-art procedures measure the important factors involved in urinary function and incontinence with minimal patient discomfort.

The Urodynamics Lab staff provides patient education and training sessions and also performs leading-edge biofeedback treatments to provide select patients with an alternative treatment for incontinence without the use of medication or surgery.
