Brain Aneurysm

The Methodist Neurological Institute Brain Aneurysm Center is a comprehensive center providing expert care and research for patients affected by stroke or aneurysms. Formed as part of the Methodist Neurological Institute, the Brain Aneurysm Center is a crucial step to fight these terrible disorders because stroke and aneurysms are the third leading cause of death in the United States.

The Center staffs nationally and internationally recognized neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons and neurologists. Physicians are leading research trials and looking at new ways to improve current treatments.

The Center offers patients the latest in diagnostic imaging technologies, which gives physicians better tools for treating brain aneurysms and blocked arteries that could lead to stroke.

Some of the diagnostic modalities that help provide definitive diagnosis are:

  • 3 Tesla high field strength MRI
  • MR angiography with 3D reconstruction
  • CT angiography w/ 3D image rendering

The Center’s Neuroradiologists are well known for their expertise in latest, minimally invasive techniques for treatment of both blocked and ruptured aneurysms.

Our neurosurgeons are highly skilled in minimally invasive microscopic neurosurgical techniques, as well as the latest radiosurgery techniques for treating vascular malformations of the brain.

The Center provides neurologic rehabilitation as well for long-term follow-up care.

Therapy includes:

  • Physical therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational therapy
