A Randomized, Controlled Clinical Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of Cortoss® Synthetic Cortical Bone Void Filler in Vertebral Augmentation

Primary Investigator: Dr. Hani Haykal

The Purpose of this study is to identify individuals who have experienced back pain related to one or two compression fracture(s) of their vertebra (the bones in their back). Compression fractures occur when the bones in the back collapse because the bone has weakened. We hope to accomplish reduction of pain and improve the function of the spine, and to prevent further collapse of the fractured vertebra.

How do I qualify for this study?

If you have experienced back pain related to one or two compression fracture(s) of your vertebra (the bones in your back), the bone has become weak because of osteoporosis, or your pain level has reached an intensity that hinders you in your daily activities, you may qualify for this study.

How long will I be in the study?

You have to be followed up for 24 months with office visits and back X-ray.
