Clinical Interests:
Stroke, multiple sclerosis, dementia, seizures, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and neuro-oncology.
Research Interests:
Insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus in stroke, sleep disturbances in stroke, and primary stroke prevention programs. He is the site principal investigator for the IRIS trial, one of the largest NIH-funded trials to date. It aims to evaluate insulin resistance as a potential new risk factor for stroke prevention.
