
WHAT: The Methodist Hospital Center for Performing Arts Medicine will host a free concert featuring the Doctors Orchestra of Houston. They will perform Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto for employees, patients and visitors.

WHO: Approximately 70 members of the Doctors Orchestra of Houston, including physicians, dentists, nurses, medical students, biomedical scientists, social workers and other allied health professionals, will join Russian born pianist Zoya Shuhatovich and Russian born conductor Libi Lebel to perform a Russian Masterwork.
NOTE: From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Doctors Orchestra of Houston will conduct an Open Rehearsal of Beethoven's 9th at The Methodist Hospital. This rehearsal is free to the public.

WHO: Principal members of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra will entertain with W. A. Mozart’s “Oboe Quartet” for oboe, violin, viola and cello.

HOUSTON - 12/12/2008 - The Houston Symphony's full orchestra, featuring Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski, warmed the hearts of patients, family members and visitors of The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center with a free, live holiday performance.
More than 60 professional musicians, along with Houston Symphony Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski, entertained visitors in Methodist's main lobby with holiday favorites, such as J. Wasson's Festival Fanfare for Christmas; Troika from Lieutenant Kije, Opus 60 by Prokofiev; Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring from Cantata No. 147 by J. S. Bach/A. Reed; and numerous excerpts from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Opus 71a.
