The Methodist Hospital Surgery Grand Rounds provides an environment for the review and discussion of institutional quality and national quality metrics programs. It will meet the ongoing educational needs of members of the surgical and medical staff in advances in surgical patient care management and elements in the professional and socioeconomic environment of surgical care delivery.
The target audience for this activity is attending surgeons, residents, medical students, allied health personnel and attending physicians of The Methodist Hospital System and affiliated institutions.
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
The Methodist Hospital System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Methodist Hospital System designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The Methodist Hospital (TMH) Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) makes every effort to develop CME activities that are scientifically based, accurate, current, and objectively presented. In accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Standards for Commercial Support, TMH has implemented a mechanism requiring everyone in a position to control content of an educational activity (e.g., directors, planning committee members, contributors, peer reviewers, CME staff) to disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests (drug/device companies) and manage/resolve any conflicts of interest prior to the activity. Individuals must disclose to participants the existence or non-existence of financial relationships: 1) at the time of the activity or 12 months prior; and 2) of their spouses/partners.
In accordance with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support and The Methodist Hospital System policy, identification and resolution of conflict has been made in the form of external peer review of educational content.
