Join the Methodist Team!

To join the Methodist team:

  • Go to houstonheartwalk.org
  • Click on "register!" in the red circle
  • Read and agree to the terms and conditions
  • Select "Join a Team"
  • Select "The Methodist Hospital" from the list of teams and select the unit or area you would like to support. (All areas are part of the Methodist team.)

As the American Heart Association’s signature fund-raising event, the Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun family environment. This year, over 1 million walkers will participate in more than 500 events, raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers- heart disease and stroke. This year, the Start! Houston Heart Walk is expected to bring over 15,000 walkers together in celebration of healthier living and raising money to help others.

2009 Start! Houston Heart Walk

GOAL: 1.5 million
WHY: To promote walking as a part of a healthy lifestyle and raise funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs for the Houston community.
WHO: Over 150 Houston-area companies and organizations participate along with their family and friends.
WHAT: Fun-filled, non-competitive 5-mile walk on Allen Parkway
